Default Can someone tell me what i am looking at on my 2D unit?

Hello all, New member here. I have been lurking and learning. I have been intrigued by summer crappie for the past year or so and have not figured out hot to even catch a limit, but thats the fun of it is learning. I have seen what I think is fish on my sonar. This is a older Lowrance HDS 5c unit that I have had since 2015. Can someone tell me what this is? I have 3 photos all taken from the same place just at different depths.

oh, and how do I get my photos the right orientation?

Looks like a school of fish to me feeding on a bait ball

It looks like stripers feeding on a school of baitfish but I’m not 100%.

What are you looking for to come up with that? I have googled and YouTubed everything possible. Almost everything now is on down scan and SI. Hard to find detailed info on 2D. If they are striper what would be the bait of choice? Spoon, fluke? I’ll have just as much fun catching a school of striper as I would anything. And I’d love for my son to get into a frenzy of schooling fish.

I circled the marks in green that gave me the thought of stripers. I’ve seen my graph like this when the stripers are chasing and they leave a long elongated mark on my screen. I keep a rod with a swim bait or bucktail tied on just for these occasions. Just be aggressive when retrieving the lures cause they’re feeding and the baitfish are very erratic trying to escape.

I use 2d some just to verify my di/si as a learning curve. A say stripe or white bass. Throw some shiny let it fall 3 ft and keep it moving toward you.

Looks like various striped fish of some kind to me , the “ant” mound in the one image is likely a herd of sandbass , the streaks are likely sandbass or striped fish of some kind hitting a bait school best I Can tell .
The shallow water at night image “might” be crappie , said might ….
Find structure/cover with bait above it and lots of “dots” right on top of the cover below the bait , probably crappie
