Default Help with follow the contour on Helix 9

Heading back from Florida! Fishing was not good, but I was fishing!

My issue is, I tried to use the “Follow the contour” feature and it would not show up as an option! Getting good views from transducer, but missing that key feature! Is there something wrong with my install or is there a trick to it?

There's really no trick, you just have to be on your map, zoom in amd cursor to the contour line you wish to follow. Press the go to button and select follow the Contour and then you can select which direction you wish to follow the Contour

Nope! Did all of that and I’m not getting the “follow the contour” option to select.

Do you have a lake master card in it that is compatible with ipilot link. I'm using lake master version 6 and it works good.

You have to have a Minna kotta with ipilot link and it has to be networked to the helix with a lake master card in it.

I have the Lakemaster Southeast card in it!

As to the other post about linking TM to Helix, all I know is I see the Down imaging on my helix! How do you link them?

I am a novice to all of this stuff! Please help me out

You will need a network cable and a adapter for the helix. The adapter is called a dongle cable and is about $30. If your network cable off of your Minna kotta isn't long enough you will need a network extension cable. My ultrex came with a 30 ft ext cable. Just put the dongle cable on the end of the network cable put it in the cable collector in the right slot and plug it into your helix. When you turn your helix on it will say network connected across the top when it connects. You can look on the humminbird web site for an illustration

So you’re telling me the cable I got to connect the TM to the helix is not the correct 1? It requires a special cable in order to link the two together, even tho it reads my DI fine?

So I have the same set up. You need a dongle for the DI and for the Ethernet cable from the TM to the Helix. Depending on where your Helix is located you may need to also have an additional Ethernet cable. My Helix and TM are on the bow so I just had to get a dongle for the DI and an Ethernet dongle which allows the Helix to talk to your Minn Kota.
