    Default Humminbird SI test images

Is this what crappie should look like? I'm still trying to learn how crappie look versus shad or other fish. I don't think I have my settings quite like they need to be either.Name: 20211228_193400.jpg

Nice image; I think you're on the right track with your settings. Nice school of fish, whatever they are.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

That’s a pretty good screen shot. I would go to the SI enhance tab and lower the sharpness settings from high to med or low. The outside edges of the pic looks hot or really grainy. This is a setting you’ll get comfortable with and will adjust according to water conditions.
If I had a guess of species, I would think crappie but they could be small white bass or stripers. And I thinking they are small stripers as tight as the ball looks.
Only way to confidently know is catch one.
Just my .02 and some days it’s not worth that.

On my phone I am able to zoom in and see individual fish but can't tell by the shape what they are.

I actually had the sharpness off as well as the dynamic contrast. I guess I need to bring down the sensitivity more and possibly raise the contrast.

Not sure. Looks like a wad of fish but I am wondering why it doesn’t show their shadow. Whatever it is it looks like your settings are good to me.

I’m not being negative of the screen shot and it is a good return. The only reason I thought sharpness was up was the group of fish on the right side about halfway down was somewhat hidden in the brightness. I play with the settings of sensitivity, contrast, and sharpness to get a pic I can see and understand with schools 50-100 ft off the sides. That’s my total objective for my SI and to see the fish not directly under the boat. I can confirm those with 2d and DI. I love seeing a group under the boat in the SI mode. It really makes the fish show up on screen and I would have spun around and put a hook in a few of this school.

No shadow because he was almost directly over them ( shadow hidden ) did not hit them dead center because no fish on the right side of SI.

When I took the screen shot I was actually just cruising around and trying to adjust the settings. I had a wow moment and took the picture. I was hoping they were crappie but I never casted on them so I will never know what they are. Does anyone have Side Imaging pictures of known crappie so I will at least know what I'm looking for and looking at when I do see it? I planned on going to lake eufaula again this weekend but seems ol man winter is going to be raining down on us.
