Default Using a scope with a Terrova

I am planning on getting the scope, and I have a Terrova TM. I have seen the scope at the front of the boat, and I have seen it on the gunnels. For those who have the same setup, which installation do you recommend?

I don't have the scope, but I use the "DA DUCER" from Podunkideas.com for my side scan. I have a Terrova with I-pilot next to it.
Rickie can make what you need for the scope as he's done it before.

Highly recommend separate pole for transducer. I converted an old wireless trolling motor so now I can use the remote to focus on target area without dealing with spot lock moving around. Just sayin…

Just ordered a gunrail mount for my Mega Live transducer from Fishing Specialties. They carry bowducer models for all three live transducers that has multiple mounting options. Very impressed so far with the customer service. Quick response to emailed questions and order was shipped same day of receiving it.

I see how that would be very helpful. I have a question about spot lock, though. The guys I hang with and learn from do not use spot lock while fishing, mainly because the constant movement of the trolling motor spooks our highly pressured fish. Is spot lock common in other places?

OAN, the tournament fisherman and guide who helped me set up my mega live recommended trolling motor mounting. Said all the people in his circle used it that way. Is that a local thing as well?

if you use it on your trolling motor and spot lock it is constantly turning and not holding on the structure, depends on the type of fishing you do

Most of the good crappie fishermen in my area use it on the trolling motor, dont use spotlock unless there retieing or pissing.

I have a Terrova and do like to spot lock and recently bought LiveScope and made my pole mount from PVC and created a gunnel mount bracket for my Versatrack (I have a tracker boat). I found a descent DIY video on Youtube to build a pole that I am able to rotate the ducer 369 degrees as well as rotate it up to perspective mode if needed. Plus if I want, I can move the bracket to the middle of the boat and position the boat so that the brushpile or whatever I am fishing is to the side of the boat and my buddy can fish from the back of the boat using the console garmin while I am up front watching the bow unit (they are networked). He is 6'4 and both of us on the bow of my 175 gets a lil cramped haha.

I have my LS on a separate homemade mount. I use spotlock allot. Wouldn't want to be without it. Wind and current aren't an issue with spotlock. Plus I don't have to worry about the trolling motor wrapping up all the cables with a separate LS mount. You don't really need to spend the money on a spot lock trolling motor if you don't plan on using it. Just my 2 cents.
