Default Mounting transducer on side of boat

I have a 14 foot jon boat that I've been building. I sold my skeeter due to health issues and find that I'm actually enjoying it better. I've got an xi3 on the front and right now a minn Kota 55 on the transom. I'm putting a mercury 9.9 after the first of the year. I've got a garmin striker 7 with the transducer on the back and the display mounted on a console I built by the driver's seat. I just purchased a lowrance hds carbon 9 for the front and want to mount the transducer on the side of the boat so what I'm looking at on the screen is actually next to the boat. I had one that way on my kayak and loved it. Has anyone mounted one like this. It's the total scan transducer and about 2 feet long lol.any pictures for ideas would be greatly appreciated

a two foot transducer? Hope this is a typo. I have never heard of a side mounted transducer or seen one. They make thru Hull transducers which might do what you want but if it were me I would mount the totalscan to the trolling motor. JMHO

I was being sarcastic about the 2 foot lol but it is about a foot long. I thought about the trolling motor and that would be a lot easier but I heard that on sidescan it causes a lot of interference. What I'm talking about is an arm that goes over the side that the transducer mounts to

It is. I had a triple shot transducer on my kayak and transferred it over to my first boat and was always worried about debris from the road hitting it while being trailered or running over something in the water. I really like the fish reveal feature on downscan so I stick with lowrance. Plus I got a really good deal on this hds carbon 9.
