Default How do I check new HB?

Please do not beat me up too bad. I saved a few bucks and bought a new Helix 12 Mega SI off of eBay. All delivered fine and the box was sealed up like new. All appears to be as it should. I want to check it, however. Can I hook it up to a battery to check it without harming the unit? Thank you in advance for any information.

They usually come with a inline fuse if I’m not mistaken!
but I’d run a 3 amp fuse link just in case ! Don’t want nothing shorting out !

Sure! Hook it up and go for it. I have done that several times. I keep an extra power cable handy just for that.

Thank you very much, Crappie.com folks. Hooked her up this morning and all is well. Now if I can just learn how to use the thing. 🤪

Simulator and Youtube vids will be your friends. Especially simulator so you can push a button and see the effect.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
