    Default Garmin Quickdraw

I'm going to try creating a Garmin Quickdraw Contours map tomorrow for the first time. Any tips or things to watch for?

I have had mine lose the satellite or something before and the green circle disappear. Just something to keep your eye on. Also I thought I had done everything pretty good in an area and not until way later noticed when zoomed in I had missed some areas. Probably not enough to matter but being Like I am it bothers me. Lol.

Once you're recording, there will be a green circle around your boat on the screen like SuperDave mentioned. If you speed up with the outboard, it'll turn yellow. Go even faster & it'll turn red.
    Green is best.
Other than that, enjoy! I use it all the time on the lakes in my area, as it seems the maps that are preloaded on my units are never accurate.

I got it to draw a great map. But... I can't find a way to name it so it can be viewed when I'm not on the water. Will it even do that ?

I've only done this once to make sure I didn't erase my map but I think if you just go to the map and zoom in to the area it is there?

I don't remember naming any of my maps either. They are just there all memorized on the card.

I think you're right. I couldn't call it up at home but as soon I was on the same water it popped right up. Must be the way it works.

Wherever you are, your map is centered on your current gps location. To view your lake from home you'll have to zoom out and/or pan around to find it.
