Default Anyone using 2 Livescopes? Forward & Perspective??

In fishing 6 to 12' of water for crappie, does anyone use 2 livescopes? 1 forward and 1 perspective?? Seams like you could "scout" with the perspective and "hunt" with the forward.

I realize when the are heavy on structure, may not work as good. But I'm talking during the summer or warmer months when they're roaming or feeding.

    Whatcha think???

Aside from the convenience of not having to "turn" the transducer mount (Perspective Mount), I wouldn't think you'd need two Livescopes.
The Perspective Mount and the software update is for using the same Livescope setup to scan wider and shallower. You would simply turn the mount and transducer so that the transducer was sideways for Perspective view or vertical for forward view. Your Garmin unit is easily switched between the two by the simple push of a onscreen button. (*but you would have to have downloaded the Perspective View software into your Garmin unit)

Perspective Mount with transducer set for Perspective View ....

Thanks CrappiePappy, I understand all that. But I'm talking about 2 LS on 2 screens at the same time.

The reason I ask is: I have LS on my current boat, using mostly forward view. Tomorrow I'm buying another boat that already also has LS. Thinking about taking all the Garmin electronics off my boat and itstalling it all on the
new boat. Which would then have 2 complete, sepreate LS's. I'm not going to get anything more for my old boat when selling it with or without LS. So I might as well have all the electronics I need.....

Gotcha !! But, in that case ... NO, I don't know anyone that has two separate Livescope setups, though I believe there is a thread about that somewhere on here. I just can't remember where, or if it was a similar question to yours or not.

My concerns about two units on one boat :

Would the tdx pings cause interference if both units were running at the same time ?
Would two units at the bow be cumbersome (in the way) if two separate mounts have to be used ?
Would you have to have each setup connected to a separate battery ?
Would the layout of the boat allow two black boxes to be mounted out of the way, and still be easily checked on ?

I fished monday with a guy that was using 2. He had them both mounted on the same shaft, one above the other. Both screens looked good to me.

He would use the perspective to troll around looking for fish and then when he saw them, get closer and then use the forward view to actually target specific crappie. Seamed to work. Now we did not fish any brush tops, strickly mid lake fishing. I'm not sure about battery cosumption. I am going back fishing with him on friday. So I'll try to learn a little more.

I only mentioned battery consumption because one unit can use up to 4a/hr (according to Garmin, at "max" capacity). They just didn't really give a definition of what "max capacity" output was.
I can only imagine it means everything "turned up" and the backlighting at full strength ...

I don't know about interferance on 2 units with the transducers pointed in roughly the same direction but I can tell you for sure if your close to another boat with livescope you will get interferance from his boat. Scott

I run two livescopes on my boat on seperate poles. It works great with no issues. I run one unit (106 and livescope) on a amped outdoors 48ah battery and the other (93sv and livescope) on a 32ah. They last longer than I do.its a wicked setup tournament fishing.

My son, Jeff Larch, runs 2 12" units. One for Livescope and one in dedicated Perspective View. He has mastered using them in conjunction with each other in searching for the biggest slabs in an area. He guides crappie every day and he and his fishing partner Jared Fyock, just won the Mr. Crappie Invitational Classic taking home 1st Place Trophies and the $100,000 prize!
