I agree on link. I can mark a brush pile on side imaging and tell my trolling motor to take me there and anchor/spot lock upon arrival. It is truly a luxury but not sure I'll go without it ever again! Buy once cry once!

That's sort of what I'm thinking is well although I don't know if I would ever want the transducer up front. My future plan is to get the Mega live or panoptix depending on how the mega turns out to be when it's finally released. So instead of the mega down Imaging I would like to have live view. If this is a doable option I would like to Mark structure on My console-mounted Side Imaging. Then fish said area with the live view but doing this I can see how the I pilot link would come into play I could just tell the trolling motor to go to the marked Waypoint.

Lots of people seem to love the remote and ditch the pedal (to free up deck space). It is responsive but single speed last I checked. Really works well if you single pole jig over brush piles or troll. Less effective for my style of fishing as I prefer both hands free to pitch and cast to fish on livescope. Keep in mind if you have livescope on a separate pole you will run outta hands!
I like the remote over the pedal. I can chase down catfish jugs. Some of the bigger fish will get moving when you get the boat near them. Remote in my left hand and grab jug with my right. I hang the remote off my belt loop by a retractable gear holder. While I am shooting docks I can grab it and adjust the boat, drop the remote and go back to fishing. I believe you can adjust the turn speed as well if I am not mistaken. The foot pedal was hard to get used to because it gave no feedback. With cable steer you kind of learned which position the pedal was at in relation to where the motor was pointing. The wired pedal you have to look around at the motor. I have not felt that I needed to move faster than the remote would allow me to move.
You are more than welcome to run mine. Remote and the foot pedal to see how you like it. I know I am a good ways away. Maybe someone closer will jump in also.
You did not state which gen HELIX ...
Minn Kota trolling motors come in 3 xducer variations ...:
*US2 (200/83kHz 2d only) which works with HELIX G1 and G2/G2N
*MDI (HW 2d CHIRP and MEGA DI) which works with HELIX G3N and G4N
*MSI (HW 2d CHIRP, MEGA DI and MEGA SI) which works with HELIX G3N and G4N
Also note that future plans of MEGA Live only connects to HELIX G3N and G4N (and SOLIX or APEX) ...
