    Default Ulterra & Livescope

Can you mount the LVS34 transducer on the Ulterra or will it have to go on a pole? I am concerned with the automatic deploy and retract operation of the motor.

It will go on but you'll find the foot pedal for ultera and terrova SUCK for sniping open water crappie. If you can ultrex is the way to go. Night and day difference. Scott

Why do you think this? Seriously i'm wondering why because i took my terrova iut for the first time today & caught quite a few with it. Is it because of the spring setup in the pedal or what?

Too stupid to explain the mechanics behind the 2 designs but they are night and day different IMHO. You can take a small piece of board like a 1" x 2" and attatch it in the middle of the pedal to give you something to rock your foot back and forth on and it's better but not even close to the degree of control you have with ultrex in making very small micro adjustments to keep a fish and jig on the screen. It is not that you can't catch any fish with that set up, the reason I'm familiar is have a couple of friends with the same set up but as you get " good " at sniping you will catch more IMHO.If your primary method of fishing is using the remote or spotlock the they are fine. Its has been my understanding and belief that by the nature of its design and its self stow and deploy capabilities that you shouldn't attach anything to the Ulterra shaft.

I spotlocked in the wind but also maneuvered around a lot using the pedal yesterday. It is different but i didn't think it was that bad after kind of getting use to it. My buddy has a new ultrex so i'll be using it & be able to compare them against each other then.

I already have one of those Cornfield mounts on my Ulterra as a result of the Lowrance transducer being attached to the bottom of my trolling motor. I disconnected the foot control and only use the remote fob. Guess I will have to go with a pole. Thanks for the responses.

Didn’t they make the ultrex earlier models with cable steer and now they are electric steer just like all the rest? Just wondering if there’s any difference now at all…
