Well I went ahead and ordered a Mega Live. I do plan to run them both at the same time as a comparison off of my transducer pole. Should be a great comparison. Now the wait for the Mega Live transducer. Best guess is somewhere in the September thru October timeframe.

Interested to see also. I still don’t see anything in that video that looks like it’s anything much better than Garmin PS22 I had on the boat for a long time. That is really zoomed in on a sparse stakebed on a 15” screen. If that’s the case, you will have a very hard time finding a jig in the cover vertical fishing. Still a great tool but not on par with Livescope for the way a lot of us are using forward facing sonar.

pab I hear you but that big ole dead spot where everything disappears NOW on Livescope is a killer when casting to open water suspended crappie.
I love to target them open water fish. I'm willing to give up some detail as long as the fish and my bait don't magically disappear and then reappear once they get within 20 feet of the boat.
Heck I may end up keeping and using both.
I hear you on that Roy. The dead spot is a thorn in my side a lot too. I just don’t think this is going to be the fix for my style of fishing. I never really tried to cast out in open much when I had the PS22 but it was really hard to find jig vertical fishing and didn’t do the job in more dense stakebeds common in our lakes as far as separating fish from cover. One of the manufacturers will get it all straightened out eventually.

I'm not sad I'm excited. Those fish using that green palette look pretty good to me!
I'm just posting videos for people to see that might not go to the all the sites I visit. I haven't seen anything that would make Garmin users want to switch but it's definitely good enough for Humminbird users that have a compatible unit wanting to add live imaging to their system.
Is it as detailed as Garmin Livescope, nope, sure doesn't look like it.
Does it have a blind spot, ghost tree, or allot of excess clutter on the screen, nope, sure doesn't look like it.
I'm sure there will be pros and cons to both systems, that's one of the reasons I plan to run both for awhile. All I really want is to be able to see open water suspended crappie from 20 to 40 feet in front of my boat, and see my bait when I cast to them without dead zones. If Mega Live can do that then I'll be a happy guy.
