if ya go bigger and want a fair price for that 1222 pm me
I could have bought anything I wanted and after a lot of research decided on GPSMAP 1222.
I didn’t want a touch screen and didn’t like the cradle mount on others.
Mine is a only for used for Livescope. Three other units on boat all dedicated for other uses. Also Active Captain app is not compatible with some of the other units.
Thinking about going with a bigger unit in the near future.
Hope you have a Spot Lock Trolling motor as well because boat control is especially important using Livescope.
Chuck.

I have 102sv for livescope and has no mapping. I have 93sv at console and has mapping which shares with 102. I would’ve gotten a 106sv for console which has mapping but wouldn’t fit. I like em both and love the touchscreen feature. I wound be able to go back to a non-touch unit ever again. GPSMap units have more features but I didn’t need them. One feature they have I see several use is Helm which will record your livescope screen. Echomaps don’t have this.

You are right about them scattering like a covey of quail (sometimes).
I pretty much keep my Livescope on forward and search for them at 20-30 ft. When I find fish, turn it to 20ft. I never get any closer than 15ft from target. My jig poles are 13ft and when single polling I’ll pitch past the target and let bait come from behind them into striking range.
Deep water??
Don’t recall ever catching a Crappie deeper than 15-18 FOW.
I use a 2021 Ultrex and yes it could be a little quieter.
I enjoy pushing double minnow rigs.
Fish alone and only fish 4-14 footers.
Livescope on 20ft and I can see my minnows and weight.
Thanks
Chuck
