Default Long wait times for replacement parts!

I purchased a Garmin Echomap 93SV on Black Friday 2020. It had a defective transducer, no side view or accurate water temp. I contacted Garmin and sent the transducer back to them with an anticipated wait time of 3 weeks. The UHD 54 'ducers were backordered. After 5 weeks, they told me it would be another 6 weeks before the 54s were back in stock. They are trying to get me a 56 instead. They are supposed to be backordered until middle of May!!

Just wanted to give a heads up to those who may need warranty work or replacement parts for their sonar units. It seems that everything is out of stock. They are blaming Covid, but the increased demand is more likely the key.
If you have a special trip scheduled or a tourney coming up, I would make sure your equipment is ready- VERY long wait times for manufacturers to get parts back to you.
Just a heads up to ya'll.

I waited several weeks for my replacement GT54 transducer, and finally got one a week ago or so. I guess they are already out. I've had a GT56 back ordered for 2 months now.

Every industry out there is facing the same situation. Especially in the electronics industry.. and Covid is a big factor in all of it. Read a Article yesterday or day before that there is a shortage of containers in China due to so many sitting on ships at anchor around the world trying to get off loaded and ports are backed up because of the pandemic.

Rather sad to see how a larger than normal population of people have reacted to a taste of the government teat.

Can't blame them, but I don't think the above needed products are produced here within the United States.

Ford is one who spends billions on Electronic parts and they have filled all of there overflow lots with vehicles they can not finish waiting on parts from overseas.
Now they are laying off workers cause they cannot complete the cars.

Tariffs and the pandemic likely attributed to the chip shortages. Seems people will get back to work when it is safe to go back. Too bad better policies weren't put into place a year ago, eh?
