Default Need guidance on upgrade to fish finder/graph

I saw Dutchman's thread and I didn't see the info I was looking for, so instead of high-jacking his thread, I thought would start another here to ask a specific questions.
I have the 12v version of the Terrova on the boat I bought and only have the Pirahna Max mounted at the drivers console. I would like to possibly upgrade, but have no earthly clue what to get or even what will be compatible with my TM.

Anyone have experience with my issue and would like to chime in? I would greatly appreciate it. I want to add a screen to the front for use while using the TM.

Also, could I add that one and keep the one at the drivers console?

    Thanks...

What year terrova? Does it have a built in transducer? Need to know before you go any further. One thing I can tell you is the piranha won't share with anything.

LOL! I guess I should figure out what I have before asking questions! Sorry..

All I know at this moment while typing this, is that it does have the I-pilot on it. The previous owner said he bought it around 2012.

Does it say iPilot Link on the trolling motor head ??

The Link part means it’s Ethernet compatible with some Humminbird units for advanced navigation features ...

Hey folks, I just found something very interesting, "Bowducer" from Fishing Specialties. Bowducer install on Bass Tracker! Install a bow mount transducer without using the trolling motor. - YouTube
Would this allow me to use any type of system I wanted to?

Please remember, I am brand new to this! LOL!!

Since it is an Ipilot and not a link, doesn't matter which brand of ff you use. You can put the transducer on the barrel of the troller. Get the same brand ff for the console with a transducer mounted to the transom, link both ff to each other, and bam what one sees so does the other.

So, you think all of that and the TM will operate all day one a 12v system? I had the Helix 7 with DI and SI in buggy at bass pro tonight and put it back because I was afraid it couldn’t handle it all day!

Depends on the battery. I run 2 106's and a 24 volt terrova off 2 batterys all day. You can always use 2 batteries connected + to+ and - to - or go to lithium. I have garmins and they allow you to sleep the ff your not using.
