    Default 2.280 update


    Bought a new ultrex SI w ipilot link. It said I had to update to newest version to see SI DI and sonar. Used a formated sd card and did the default restore before installing the sd card it loaded the new version then restarted. After restarting it said something about being invalid and encrypted it ?
    Any ideas on why and how to fix it.

    It is normal, I'm pretty sure the HB just creates a "key pair" for using the user lake mapping feature, I forget what it is called - because I never use it. It doesn't actually encrypt anything unless you use the feature (which requires a paid zero line card, or something). The manual or website probably has more info, or maybe someone uses this. You can just deleate the update filse from the card and use it for storing screen shots and saving user data.

    Thanks. Checked it later and It updated to 2.28 and everything seem to work.
    After it locked up my sonar on the 2.18 update I guess I'm a little paranoid.
    Updated the base maps and they are still pretty much useless so guess I'll stick with my navionics cards

    There is already a new software update for the G4N models as well as the G3N models to software 2.44 from 2.88. You have to have 2.88 installed before installing 2.44. G4N units had 2.3 from factory.

    BBG marine. Russell marine in eldorado ks had one in a warehouse also. They are on CDC also
