    Default Livescope transducer depth.

I'm installing livescope on my bass tracker panfish special. How deep does the transducer need to be?

I put mine where it's just a few inches below the water line stain marks on the trolling motor shaft. Since they can be mounted on the side of the prop head, you can't really put them "too deep".

I run mine on a separate pole, but I’ve experimented with depth of the transducer and don’t know that it’s “super” critical one way or another, but it will give you more accurate depth readings and how deep the fish are the closer it is to the surface. Normally not a huge deal as you can see your bait, but it could matter. Haven’t experienced any difference in picture clarity with different depths of transducer.
