    Navionics Boating actually works just like your Chart view - GPS speed, boat icon relative to where you actually are, Mark waypoints, etc ...

    You should take a look at Humminbird Fish Smart app. Not only will it track gps but it will track it real time on google earth. Also will allow you to check travel distances from points on unfamiliar waters. Also allows you to mark way points and points of interest.
    I'm an Android guy and I use fishing points which is a very similar app. I also use that app on land to mark my parking location or hotel or things of such.

    I have one on my iPhone that seems to work well. It's just called Speedometer. It's has a black background with "75" and MPH - km/h under it.

    I have one similar to yours as well. It is very accurate considering it’s on the phone... had the wife compare it to my truck speedometer while I was driving and it’s pretty spot on.
