    Default Ghost Tree

My 93sv with livescope has started having a ghost tree about the middle of the screen. Will a update fix this? Also what is the easiest way to update the unit?

I update using a SD card. The newer updates have a ghost tree setting. That’s if you have a UHD unit. Not sure about the plus units. It didn’t really seem to help mine. I adjust gain more than anything to fade the ghost tree in and out.

The “Ghost Tree” is a inherent artifact in Garmin’s phased array LiveScope Sonar technology (notice how the 3 limbs in the ghost tree approximately line up with the flat surface angles on the LVS32 xducer) ...

Sometimes turning up TVG or Noise Rejection can minimize the ghost tree artifact ... but realize these higher settings also reduce target distinction ... it’s a balancing act ...

I am just so used to the ghost tree it doesn't bother me. But I can fish the same brush pile and get the tree and the next day it will be gone with same the settings. A lot of things make the gt appear and disappear, like water quality and shallow water.
