Default Tm transducer Mg xi5, Low.hds gen2 touch?

My current down/side scan transducer is on the transom, although Id prefer it on my Motoguide XI5 w/t pinpoint Tm. I was under the impression it wouldn't work properly especially if I have the anchor lock function on the Tm? and the cable wrapping around the shaft, but was told by a local boat dealer it would work fine.
So, my question is can I move the transducer from the transom to the Tm or is there a better transducer for mounting on the Tm? obtw I am running 2 Lowrance HDS touch gen 2 units 7" bow 9" helm.

The challenge with DI or SI on the trolling motor is skewing of the image while the TM is turning ...

Keeping the TM as straight as possible when needed for a discernible image is challenging but doable ...

Well Im doing more and more vertical jigging, so id trade some clarity for accuracy. I watched a few videos of how guys are mounting and securing the cable, looks like 4 wraps around the shaft is best. Do you know what is the preferred transducer for installs on Lowrance units are? The dealer said $150 ish? Also can I have each unit read off of the different transducers?

    Thanks

Ok, I called Lowrance they said the LSS-2 HDS skimmer transducer will work for $229, now I have to work on mounting it.

Your xi5 with pinpoint has a built in 2D sonar. Have you used that one?
