    Default MK Wdge Modification?


    I was wondering if any of you ever installed a rheostat on an Edge to make it variable speed instead of the factory 5 speed? Just curious if anyone has done this before.

    A rheostat would turn a lot of energy into heat - not a good idea. BUT you might be able to find a PPM Motor Controller big enough to handle the current. In fact Minn Kota made a separate unit to do exactly what you are trying to accomplish. I don't remember the model number.

    They have them on e-bay now but for 24 volt motor's only
