I put those in as : N 31 24.320 W 85 42.621 and then clicked the Search (Magnifying Glass Icon) ... and this is what I got : Google Maps

Okay thanks, I see what you did now I was actually putting the degree symbol with no space. I'll give that a shot and see if I come up with the same. And I assume that you did not use any commas in between the latitude longitude? Just a space?

I tried another one on my own
    N 31° 49.627
    W 85° 09.061
Whenever I try inputting these numbers it changes the coordinates and it's not even close.Name: Screenshot_20201123-134253_Maps.jpg

On my Humminbird Helix's setup menu, there is a menu for Latitude/Longitude format. It's with the time, time zone, language, etc. section. See if your Lowrance has a format that is standard or selectable for Lat/Longitude. Then input with that exact format.

I get the same location using those coordinates ... so, if that's NOT where you think the coords should take you, then the coords are wrong or incomplete.

I did it on the GPS Converter that I used to manually input over 300 GPS waypoints (on my Lowrance Elite 5DSI) years ago ... and it gave me the same place - GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info

Short (funny) story about using the converter : when I first tried putting in coords in the unit, they didn't fit so I left off the last number thinking it would at least be somewhat close ... but when they didn't show up on the Elite 5DSI map screen I wondered why not. Then I put those same (shortened) numbers in the converter program and found out why .... the coords were somewhere on the other side of the world !!

Once I figured out that the coords I was trying to use (Decimal Degrees) were not the same ones that the E5DSI unit was programmed for, I started trying the ones in the "GPS" line and they worked perfectly.

Where exactly are you trying to find ... maybe you can find THAT spot on Google Earth & then read the GPS coords that come up when you click on the red pin icon, and see if the numbers are anywhere close to the ones you have ??

Its mainly just curiosity. I went Saturday night to night stalk some crappie and did very well. Me and a buddy got 59. I was just easing around until I found a spot and decided to Mark it but being that it was after dark when I got on the water I really didn't have any landmarks except a lit water Tower and a boat dock that I was between I was just hoping I could plug those coordinates in on the computer and try to find exactly where I was at. I'm guessing that with it going from one GPS format to another it's not exactly spot on. I had actually marked another Waypoint that looked really well but being that this unit is slow about updating location I was either doing circles around it or was basically passed it once my location would update so I settled on the spot that I was at. I think next time I get on the water I'm going to stop the boat Mark a waypoint on the GPS as well as dropping a pin on Google Maps with my phone and then check it to see just how close one is to the other.

Yeah, our Fish & Wildlife Dept. puts out a bunch of different types of cover on some of our lakes, then post the GPS coords on their website ... I manually entered a bunch of them and found them to be spot on dead center where the waypoint mark said they were. And that was back when my Elite 5DSI unit was working. After I broke it & purchased a Hook7, I manually entered all of those waypoints into it, and still able to find them (at least the ones that still exist).

I did look on Google Earth at some lakes I fish and picked out a few stumps and laydowns showing at Winter Pool, got the GPS coords and entered those, too ... but, as of yet I haven't been able to (or remembered to) check them out when at those lakes.

Are you wanting to see this in Google Maps or Google Earth ... ??

Google Earth allows changing the format - Google Maps does not (that I can find)
