I told him they might want to put that in their instructions because every post I'd read on any internet fishing forum said you needed to put them in a compartment to keep them out of the sun but they weren't going to get any ventilation in a compartment.

I have got to where I take a lot of posts on other forums with a grain of salt. So many people have gotten to be experts with a receipt of purchase ��. The same guy that tells you that will have his unit installed at boat dealer wired to fuse panel with 16 gauge wire and crimp connectors then wonder why his voltage is low.
