I have got to where I take a lot of posts on other forums with a grain of salt. So many people have gotten to be experts with a receipt of purchase . The same guy that tells you that will have his unit installed at boat dealer wired to fuse panel with 16 gauge wire and crimp connectors then wonder why his voltage is low.

Cray you just nearly exactly described how the Solix 12 was installed on this boat. I didn’t know that until I started working on it this week. The first couple of times that I took the boat out it was showing a low voltage alarm. So I took the less than 1 year old group 29 Deka AGM cranking battery out of my Xpress and installed it. I went back out a few days later and was still showing low voltage on the Solix. I started pulling the wiring apart Monday to move the Solix to the console and the hot wire fell out of the butt splice it was installed with. First thing, I never use a butt splice on a boat and secondly when I rarely do use a butt splice in other things, I pull on the wires to make sure they won’t come out. The guy that I bought that boat from paid somebody to do a crappy job.

    Mounted mine there also
