    Default Best setup for livescope?

I'm looking to upgrade my electronics; was thinking about a Garmin 73 SV at console and 93SV at bow. However, I'm being told that the 73 is too small for the console, even though it is the biggest that will fit on 2018 Ranger RT178 and that the 93 on comes in SV. I prefer the bow unit to share waypoints with the console unit, so that I can troll to points utilizing bow unit.

If you can swing it, I'd put a 93 uhd at the console and a 106 ultra up front. They will network. What you see with one, you can see on the other.

Do you have a budget in mind? Using the word “best” in the title makes it very easy for others to spend your money.

I would guess there are options to mount a larger graph at your console.

The previous poster’s recommendation is great. I’d at least get 9” units like the 93SV UHD at both the bow and console, larger on the bow if you have the funds.

I have Lowrance at the bow and console which were there prior to adding Livescope and a 93SV UHD up front. I use my bow Lowrance HDS 7 for mapping and 2D, which is networked to my console unit. I can share waypoints between the two HDS units.

What electronics do you currently have? Could you do a similar setup where you utilize your existing electronics for 2D, SI/DI, and mapping so that you can dedicate one new graph to Livescope?

Looking at 9” max for either location, which should be in budget. I will potentially get livescope a little later, as I want to make sure I get usable units first and not just get smaller due to money. Was mostly looking for opinions on 7” SI actually being useful and which model. After doing a little more research, UHD SV is likely my only option that stays in my budget. I was hoping to get away with a CV for the front to save a little money, but it is my understanding that above 7” is all SV now.

The boat only came with a small Hook unit at console, so it wouldn’t be worth building off of it. I can mount a 9” up there, but it would leave a partially exposed hole where the Hook is.

It’s a little steep and I’m sure others make something similar, but here’s a mount that looks like it would solve your problem. Ranger Ranger RT Smart Bracket Console Mounting System | Precision Sonar

I have the 93SV UHD up front is dedicated for Livescope. I wish I had a 12” display but couldn’t justify the cost. The 93SV is definitely adequate. I can’t tell you how any of the other features work because I’ve never used them.

If interested, shoot me a PM and I might be able to help you save a bit of money.

    Good luck.

I hav 188. I hav 73sv flush mounted on dash. I also run 1222 on bow with Livescope. Would hav been nice if they could have linked up, but not that big if a deal that they dont. If I were doin it over, I would mount Hummingbird Helix 9 at console for the side imagine and the 1222 again on bow for livescope. I have never got good results w Garmin side image

Do you feel the 7" screen is adequate for SI? I really want to flush mount but don't want to buy something that I will struggle to use either.

Bigger is always better IMO on graphs. Prob quite sure 10” is 2x as big in sq In as a 7”. If I had a Helix 7 flush mounted, I would look at side image and when I seen something I wanted a better look at, I would use LiveScope on the 12”. A 10” at console wood me nice, jus doesnt fit tho
