Default Helix 9 screen fell out

Anyone ever reattached the ribbon cable on a helix 9 screen or any other Humminbird, would send back to Humminbird but unit is a demo model i bought from Gander Mnt. when going out of business here 3 or 4 years ago and it has very high hrs on it so not wanting to spend much money on it.
Searched youtube can find nothing and do have a p.m. in to Ricky to see if he can help.
Fell out on way home from fishing, looks like adhesive/sealant HB used failed. It was hanging by the 2 little wires attached to screen/board.

just got off chat line with HB and they wont tell me if its attached on loose end in anyway, want to send it and pay them 247.50 to look at it, told her i didn't want parts or HB to fix unit just a answer to my question and the rep quit responding. Not wanting any HB maintenance secrets just a simple frigging answer. She also said she could advice me on it.
Unit has 1600 hrs or so on it from being a demo in store so if I cant fix it its going in trash.

That ribbon cable should be just a plug in with a plastic retainer that holds it in place. Don’t know how hard it is to get to but shouldn’t be to hard to put back together.
Take it for what it’s worth you you, but my opinion is that if you send it in they going to repair like new or send a newe unit back to you. For 250.00 pretty cheap for a reman like new unit. They not going to look at unit then tell you it can’t be fixed and charge you that. Not how Humminbird operates.

Cray is correct. there is a small connection on the back of the screen with tabs. You slide the ribbon end into the tab(probably cream colored or black and 2 small ears on the sides of the connector push down and secure the ribbon to the connector. The same technology has been used for years in laptop computers and such. Youtube will have many videos explaining the process if you need. PM me if you need more help

Then, after getting the connectors back together, you're still faced with sealing the screen again.
Like Cray stated, $250 is cheap for a refurbishment.

A lot of times depending on age of unit and what repairs needed.....they will charge $250 and just send you a new unit.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
