I looked at the 24v battery. Pricy. It would fit my boat spot, but I didn't need that much battery. If I could justify it, I would definitely try it. My opinion.

It looks to save more space. Making the move to 24 volt soon.
My current single 12 volt group 31 just fits underneath the front seat console of my PF 16.

There is a lot of glass boaters running single 24 volt and 36 volt batteries if you want to spend the money. The other issue running a 24 v. Or 36 volt is cost of the charger as you have to use a 24 volt charger or 36 volt charger. My suggestion is check the prices of the 24 volt battery out and cost of the charger vs. 2-12 volt lithium batteries and the chargers. A lot of 12 volt chargers can be set to charge AGM batteries and charge the lithiums just fine without spending additional money on lithium only chargers.

Got quick connecters on wiring and on batteries . I can plug in charger to Lithium or units with one plug . I can also plug in old style battery if needed for some reason till I prove this out . Bought a cheap plastic ammo box to protect battery . Photos and updates to follow .

Testing Amped battery today . Kept a good limit with same Huckabee Phantom live scope rod . Purple/Chartreuse Umbrella tubes rigged on Timmy Tom insert jig heads . The battery was amazing . Ran 1242 and Black box 9.5 hours . Started on 16.1 volts and 9.5 hours later it was 14.1 volts .

The battery rated at 14.8 volts but starts out 16.8 volts with a meter . The volts at unit shows 16.1 and dropped to 14.1 , did not recheck at battery but suspect it was about 14.8 volts . This battery is so small , amazing it is running Garmin 1242 xsv and Black box for livescope for 9.5 hours . Next time I might run 2 trips to see how long it will run before quitting . They say it will stay over 12 volts till it quits . Shuts off when it gets down to 12 volts .

So the pros of these are smaller size, lighter, no loss of voltage, and lifecycle?

If a lithium battery has a life cycle of 3000 to 5000 cycles. How many times a year will you charge it? Divide that into 3000 minumin.

And from what I've read, a cycle on lithium is considered completely discharged. So if you fish all day and have used down to 70% we'll say, and then charge it back up, that's not considered a full cycle.

Which size battery are you running NIMROD? I assume it would be safe to tie in unit and battery charger? I'd like to mount all of this either under the deck or in the back with rest of the equipment.
