    Default Old style ColorClector

I recently found an old style ColorClector for cheap. The guy I got it from didn't know anything about it. I had one many years ago, but don't remember if it has a battery in it or not. I assume it does, but I can't find a way to replace it if it has one. Does anyone know if and how to replace the battery?
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

Yeah, probably takes a 9v battery. I had one a loooong time ago ... sold it and bought a Combo-C-lector, which I still have. To put a battery in it you have to unscrew the back off of it. Don't remember about the Color-C-lector, but if there's no obvious panel/door on the back .... then it possibly works the same way as the Combo-C-lector.

works off a 9 volt battery.... to install battery you will remove screw on back and slide apart and place battery to terminals, slide back and add screw

There are no screws on the back of the unit only a toggle switch and no place anywhere that I can see for a battery to go. The bezel that holds the glass on the front unscrews, but all that does is allow you to replace the glass. There is nothing on the front behind the glass except the needle and scale. I have searched the internet and haven't been able to find the info I need.

On the back....the part with the handle....all your wire wraps around under that piece....there is a toggle switch and one screw. Thats the way mine is anyway.

Thanks for the help G. I figured it out. I had to untwist the metal end of the cable that goes from the head unit to the transducer to get to the 9 volt battery.

CrappiePappy, would you happen to have the manual/instruction sheet for the Combo C Lector? The paperwork that came with mine is messed up.
