    Default New To Me Fishfinder

OK folks, I upgraded a bit from what I have for a fish finder to a still older unit someone else had who upgraded to a newer unit. I have now got a Hummingbird 797 Side imaging unit. I hooked it up to my battery to check it out, but can't get past the set up screens. I would think it would have like a demo screen to show what it's capable of. It did not come with any sd card at all. I guess my question is, does it need an sd card to get past these set up screens? And if so, does it have to be a certain type of card, i.e. a hummingbird specific card?? Thank you all for the help ahead of time. Jamesdean, aka Eric.

Hey, Thank you Hocky. It will probably take a bit to go through it. But I will go through it...

Press the Menu button when you see the HB splash screen (or just press Menu repeatedly during bootup) ...

This should give a popup with 3 choices - Normal / Simulator / System Status ...

Then use the 4way cursor button (Up and down) to choose which option ...
Then use the 4way cursor button (right) to activate that choice ...

Thank you rnvinc. I was hoping to spend some time with it yesterday and get some pics to post as to what was going on with it. How ever life got in the way and I just didn't get the chance.
Once again it looks real strongly like that move to Pheonix is going to happen since Daughter moved there, and no great grand daughter is pregnant and living there...My sweetheart is now in route one to visit with daughter, and two to house hunt...which gets me real busy with going through stuff, and so much more in prep. I will make time today and spend some time with the fishfinder...Thank you again. Eric, AKA jamesdean,
