Default Humminbird network old 899 to helix 7

I have an older 899ci HD SI in the rear and have it networked. I just had to upgrade my front unit and got a helix 7 gen3. I went out today and tried to pull my waypoints up from the 899 on the helix 7 and no go. They are compatible correct? I just want to make sure before I start tracing wires etc to find the problem.

If the HELIX 7 is the G3N - it is networkable to the 899 ...

Make sure both units are set to “Share Waypoints” under the Network tab ...

Did you verify you had a network established between the two units (Network Menu)?

I went to the network menu and changed each one to share waypoints. When I then looked at the network source, it only shows 1 unit. It does not show both units

You may need to update the 899 to the latest software to get it to Network correctly ...
