    Default Mapping


    I am looking at two Lowrance sonars. One is a split shot the other is a triple shot. The split shot description says includes US Lake Maps. The triple shot says includes US Inland Maps. What is the difference between the two mapping systems? I want to make sure the system mapping I get has contour lines.

    If the picture of the unit on the box shows a contour map ... it's pre-loaded in that unit.
    as in this ad : Robot Check

    Otherwise you'd have to purchase a map chip for your region.

    I have a Gen 1 Hook 7 (2d/DI) and it only has base maps (blue marking, no contours), so I purchased a map chip for it.

    I have a tripleshot and when viewing the chart it does have the contour lines. It is the US inland map. Where are you looking to purchase from? Everywhere I have tried to buy another tripleshot when trying to order they all say out of stock.
