^^^^^ If you don't get it working I'd call and talk to some else or email, if you bought it off eBay you'll have a paypal statement with the purchase or it would be on your credit card statement. Doesn't bird have a two year warranty? I just sent a Lowrance in today for warranty, bought in Nov 18 all they asked for was the serial number.

I had a similar problem with a Lowrance unit, they didn't want to honor the 1 year warranty. It was posted on the Lowrance website that the unit had a 1 year warranty, when presented them with the facts they repaired my unit free of charge. It looks to me that Humminbird Carrie's the same warranty, does not say cannot buy from Ebay.

As they say Never give up! Hold your ground, they have no out in this

Yea I read the same thing as it pertains to HB warranty requirements and nowhere mentioned does it say Ebay.

If you have a Lakemaster map card, don't use that to export the data to. Use a separate card that doesn't have valuable data on it. The card will be formatted by the unit when you do the export.

I downloaded the chart onto the sd card and uploaded to the unit. So technically don't have a 'lakemaster card'.

I by mistake when putting one my units away, I pressed the off button and shut down sonar only. This was on a new Helix 12. After several resets, power down did I notice the option to shut down just the sonar. Yes mapping worked. Just a thought for ya.

Was it an individual or a store on eBay? There's a lot of stores that sell on eBay.

I did the same thing last week somehow. Finally got it back to default.

217 sounds like a cheap option relative to buying another.

Ebay is irrelevant. You either bought from an authorized dealer or you didn't. Some dealers operate on eBay and this should be well understood for anyone else hoping to save a few bucks (not a lecture just fair warning to others).

Hopefully resetting everything works. I assume you have checked connections for any broken or corroded pins.

    I would
Fire unit up, make sure sonar is turned on.
Export waypoint to an SD card.
    Is unit working? If not
    Restore defaults.
    Power down and restart.
    Is it back to working?
If not format nav directory’s, restart unit.
    Back to working?
If not call HB and ask for someone higher up.
HB has great customer service, you just need to get to the right person.
