Default iPilot link Bluetooth remote RF Error

My remote wouldn’t work yesterday. It would power up, but then the battery symbol would flash and screen would say RF Error. I emailed Minnkota while in the water. They emailed back for my receipt, and said it sounds like remote is bad. I sent it back and haven’t heard back yet. I’m one month out of warranty. If they don’t cover it I’m thinking of replacing the battery just to see if that’s the problem. I found the right battery for about $15. A new remote is $260.

This is on a Bluetooth Terrova.

Has anyone else had this problem?

It does sound like a battery problem... I have the remote that uses 3 AA batteries and have not run it down that far yet. Hopefully they get you your remote back soon.

I don't have the link unit just the standard BT. I did have the same problem and they said the remote was bad. They replaced it really quickly. My experience with MK customer service has been totally positive but I have had to use them too many times on this one trolling motor.
