Sorry it has taken me this long to get back to this. I took on a two week project that lasted a month. I do appreciate your help.

Any suggestions on what to use for a handheld to start the build

I put the cont (continuous) switch and the 1k pot in a hobby box. The other three switches are foot pedal switches which I mounted on a aluminum plate. The foot pedal switches control: left, right and momentary on/off. I reused the old foot pedal cable end with the connector and spliced my wiring matching switches, to wire color. I still use this arrangement on my Crappie Jon.

Thanks. I'm still in the planning stages. Some reason I can see toggle switches in box velcroed to my leg.

That would work. Use miniature everything. Very little current required.

The foot pedal circuit switches ground to high impedance inputs and the pot is a voltage divider controlling a pwm oscillator.

The drawing isn't much. I drew it up in Windows Paint.

Forgot to add the the v2 pwm is a variable width clock running at 400 Hz. This pwm is not the rf noisemaker, the rf comes from the dc motor commutation.

When I was a kid, ALL cars had dc generators. You could hear the car shifting gears (especially stick shifts) thru the radio. I am sure there are members here that have witnessed this stuff.

Replaced a many generators. Struggled with wine. I just didn't know that's what it was.
