When you use Mega 360 are you slow trolling? Wife and I do a lot of slow trolling and some brush pile fishing, I can see it would be great for fishing brush piles but when we are slow trolling we run about .6 to 1 mph, I heard its not very clear when the boat is moving. Also does the 360 transducer replace the transducer that came with my Helix 9 mega DI SI?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
You need a y cable to use your transducer with, the Mega 360 in combination. For Helix models, 9 M360 2DDI Y is the cable. Because the Mega 360 is not plugged into the network and in the back of your helix or Solix, the Helix unit’s must be a g3n Plus unit starting with the size of helix 8 SI+ G3N as it plugs into where the transducer port is or a Y cable. If using the Y cable with a Helix 9 SI G3N, no y cable offered by Humminbird is wired to show SI. It will only show 2d and DI because you will get your SI by using the Mega 360 and it’s a good as your transducer pic when using the Mega 360 in SI setting. I use the Mega 360 when trolling crankbaits at a speed of 1.4 to 2.2 mph with no issues set at a sweep speed of 3 and even sometimes 4. Give me a really good pic of fish, structure, baitballs, you name it. I have no issues but slower speeds will be more clear than fast. The Mega 360 can only be plugged into a G3N Plus unit, but once plugged into the Plus unit,,can be networked to other Helix units that have the software version 2.18 to run the mega 360. Solix units require a different software other than what Helix is offered also.

Lowrance live is so bad its not even considered in the same category. They were trying so hard to compete i think they had some kind of 6month return if not happy policy.
I was a Lowrance guy for the last 15 years.
Humminbird beat them on SI and Garmin killed them with livescope

No you can't watch the fish suck your jig in but you can know that they are there; Lowrance was able to work a deal with Garmin which let them in the play pool but locked out HB.

Can you see your jig with 360 the way you can with livescope?

I have 'bird Mega SI+ Helix at the console for cruising around looking... Garmin up front with PLS for fishing when I find 'em. The best of both worlds. You need to keep at least ONE 'bird.

I love my Birds at the console for finding structure and fish. Livescope at the bow to fish for them. Like said above "best of both". HB mega 360 looks nice and I could see how it would be useful but if I could only have 1 unit on my boat it would be Livescope by a wide margin.
Really would LOVE to see HB come out with something even close to Livescope!

I would think they would before long. I just don't see how you could patent "live". I would be very interested in seeing a HB offering as well. Wouldn't 360 live be amazing!!!

Where did your screen stack mounts come from?
