2.41 upate

Well I went out today to test the new 2.41 update for my Garmin Livescope. First I reset defaults on my 2.20 update and went and spot locked on a huge brushpile. Took a whole bunch of screenshots in amber, green and blue using default settings. Then adjusted gain for each color. Took screenshots of all. Then I cast out a cork with a 1/8 oz weight at 8' and a 1/16 oz jig at 10'. Took screenshots at 35, 30, 25, 20, and 15 feet using all 3 colors. Could hardly ever find my jig in the 20 to 30 foot range.

I then installed the 2.41 software, reset defaults and repeated above procedures. Overall picture quality about the same, maybe a little better but I could see my jig at 35 feet all the way back to the boat. Huge improvement, very little to no dead zone and the starburst array in versions 2.30 and 2.33 is greatly reduced. I took a ton of screenshots, I'll only post a few of 2.41. In my opinion I like it! Think I'm going to do the update. Hoping my ghost tree will go away but maybe not.

I fished for about a total of 10 minutes, caught 4. Today was about research, hope to just go fishing tomorrow! I happy I did the update.

Thanks for the report. Think I will upgrade when I get the chance. Do you use the perspective view?

Roy, which unit do you have i think i remember you having the 93plus at one time. With the update is your unit better or you back where you was befroe the 2.31 update. Would i be better to update if i wasn't going to use perspectve. I see some good videos don't know what unit they are from.

I don't use the Perspective View, from the images and videos I've screen I probably never will. Not impressed at all.
I used to have a 933sv plus unit. Hated the glare on the screen. Moved up to an Echomap Ultra 122 unit. Love it, no problem with glare even in direct bright sunlight.
I had rolled back my software from 2.33 to pre Perspective View software 2.20. It was better but not as good as it originally was.
Today was my first day using 2.41 software. For me it was pretty good. Close to what I originally seen when my unit was new. I'm happy.
