Again, seems to be more hardware related issues as well as some software issues. Seems like people with same hardware and same software in the same area are getting different returns, hence it seems like they are having some issues with the quality of some of their hardware.

I updated to the newest version 2.41 on my 93 sv plus and i did not like it, the ghost tree was visible when noise rejection was at medium and bright orange when noise reject was on low. I reverted back to the previouse update, i believe it was the first version when perspective view came out and it fixed that issue. I'll probably give the new update another try using a SD card vs the Active Captain App that i used to see if there was any difference.

Curious if you have a hard bottom where you were testing it, and what version you went back to?
Also water depth?

I went back to 2.33, yes there was hard rocky bottom where I fish and I usually fish anywhere under 30ft of water but mostly spend my time in 12-20 ft of water.

You can’t save your software version on the unit to a chip. You would need to get a copy of the version you want from someone who downloaded it when it was available on Garmin website. Garmin does not keep older software versions available when they come out with new updates.
Im pretty new to Garmin but I think I may start downloading updates and saving a copy of them on my computer each time they come out with a new one. I’ve only updated my unit once when I first bought it and that time I did it through WiFi through the ActiveCaptain app.

what unit do you have? I only know how to revert back to the previous version on the 93sv echomap plus units. I would save the update to a folder on your computer so that way if you ever needed or want to revert back its on your PC. It's really easy, just click on Download and then click on the up arrow and click on "save as", then put it in the folder you want on your PC.

The Ghost tree was really bad when I did the 2.41 update on Active captain, I can get the tree off but I have to set noise rejection to high, with noise on high I cant see my jig anymore which is pointless to me. I redid the 2.41 update yesterday using a SD card and it's much better than the Active Captain version but the ghost tree is still more noticeable than 2.33 version. I like 2.41 better than 2.33 because I can see my jig better.
