I emailed Amped Outdoors and asked about this and below was the reply,

"This is not necessary and also not accurate in LiFePO4 lithium. If you are charging after each use you will never have to worry. The build in BMS will make sure you never overcharge or discharge too low. Hope this helps!"

i would expect that answer from Amped Outdoors as when the first offered batteries, they had a built in meter at the top of their batteries. Using the phone app that comes with my Ionic batteries, showing all the info of the usage of my batteries over the past 3 months if fishing,,after 3-4 outings running them down to about 25%,,I charge them,,phone app or meter would show only having used 4 cycles of 100% charging so far, my electronic battery shows 6 cycles now. I get 5-7 hrs of usage each time fishing and don’t charge until they have been run down to 20-25% power left in them. The batteries will outlive me with me being age 70. Good lithium battery maintenance will extend and protect your investment. I was going to buy the Ampeds but they discontinued the meter. WayneP, a HB guru, in bbc forum metered his batteries as he bought the Ampeds and saved quite a bit of money. Nothing wrong with the Ampeds at all. But I would think you would want to know when your going to run out of battery power as when they die..they die with no notification, just like a lithium drill battery. I am running my starting big boat motor off a lithium also, so I need to keep a eye on the battery power. Just my 2 cents.

I have the 30ah amped battery running nothing but my livescope and my 8610xsv. I can get about 8 hours of continuous use out of it. Wish I had gone with the 50 ah battery because I sometimes steady out on the water for more than 8 hours lol.

Due to the size of your lakes in Indiana,,the ones I fish are 1400 acres, 1700 acres, 8000 acres and our largest 10,5 k acres..with the pressure being caddie shack and jam packed especially on weekends,,throw in the bad weather we been having,,only fishing one day a week not wanting to get enfolded with the masses..I was running 4 batteries..2-100 lithiums for the 12 volt MK power drive v 2,,50 amp lithium for the electronics,,,and a smaller 400 plus amp car battery wet cell For my minuscule boat electronics and trim tilt and electric start 25 hp Yamaha..I swapped the batteries,,going to 100 amp in the back,,all electronics and boat motor in it,,got rid of the wet cell..moved the 50 amp lithium paralleled to the 100 amp lithium as you can mix the lithiums if they have the same BMS system built into them...the trolling motor usage will be equalized between the 2 even tho not the same size. With using batteries with the large amperage even tho I could have gotten by with 2-50 amp lithiums for the trolling motor. I am fishing 5-7 hrs each time out,,getting 3 to 4 days of fishing before charging,,and only charging once every couple of weeks and you can regulate all of this knowing your usage, when to charge with the batteries metered or monitored with if using Ionic batteries and their phone app and extend the life of them if that maters to you. Yes,,they have a warantee of 5 yrs with a min. 10 yr life cycle based on charging 2000 to 5000 cycles or more..but the studies show if your running these lithiums down below 20-25 % and your constantly charging to 100% you decrease the life cycle of the lithiums more quickly. As well as most studies show you do not want to long term store them at 100% with the studies recommending,,keeping the batteries stored at 50% and your peak charging to about 80% not the 100%. All of this supposedly maximizes the life of the lithiums. Weight savings in. 1648 jon boat was a min. Of 200 lbs..more savings on less gas used on the big motor,,better speed and hole shot on the bass boats,,as I have really noticed that myself as my top speed now is 27 mph not that I am into speed anymore as having gotten rid of the glass boats. Less wear in the trolling motor also as I am not cranking the speed dial up as much as I would on it when longlining jigs and crankbaits. And I have even taken out the battery chargers as there is no need for a trickle charge in them. I really like using the lithiums and glad to have gotten them even tho they are quite the investment.

One other thing if you switch to using all lithium batteries. Some of the users are finding their boats riding higher in the water and having to lower their engines a inch or 2 to maintain their speeds for their prop performance. Most of these users are tourney fishermen.

Greenwing we hope to hear your report.
I haven't been with my buddy, but he did tell me that he fished 3 days memorial day weekend and only used 15%. I think he's happy with the results.
