    Default Interference on garmin 73cv

Hey guys, I just installed a motorguide x5, ever since, ive had issues with interference on front garmin 73? I had a motorguide x3 and Minnkota hand controlled came on the boat. I had no issues with interference with either of these? The x3 burnt the motor up and heated the transducer cord enough to slightly melt the exterior black sheathing. The unit works fine until you cycle the motor on either by foot switch or turning on constant power. Anyone dealt with anything like this? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

Damaged cable sheathing can allow RFI encroachment ...

Remove the xducer and its cable from the trolling motor and test in the water far away from the trolling ...

Then test with the damaged sheathing area close to the trolling motor ...

If the RFI returns only when the damaged sheathing area gets close to the TM - that xducer needs replacing ...
