    Default Garmin fails again!

Well Garmin sent.me the.2.33 update on an sd card to do.a forced reload on my system, said maybe.my files.were.corrupted. Forced update went well. I got out today to test it. Factory defaults restored. Image still snowy but no dead zones. Moved.to.open water, on no.ghost tree.shows up, reduce gain, dead zone.right through the middle of a big brush pile. Image looks much worse with green pallet as compared.to amber which makes no sense. Call Garmin, they say that I need to wait for next update. Ask to.speak.to.supervisor, told phone issue and they can't transfer me, supervisor will.call me later. 5 hours, still waiting. Very disappointed that Garmin will not really own up to this problem, I've had Livescope almost 18 months, loved it. Now this is just poor on Garmin. Don't want to send me a new transducer and black box and have no software.solution to my problems. Say just wait. I waited for the fix to fix the Perspective View update. Now wait again and hope Garmin gets it right this time. Sad, very sad! Guess I'll call back again tomorrow and continue to do.so until this gets fixed.
Here are some screenshots from today. Some look.ok. Green looks bad, remember should be a.big solid brushpile without a missing section!

I met Gene at the boat ramp on Gaston and he said his was acting up after doing an update. Did your problems start after doing an update Roy? I've heard so many problems with updates I've decided not to update any of my electronics unless I absolutely have to.

Yes my problems started after doing the Perspective View update, and then the fix for that update. Garmin is doing a terrible job of working with people on this. Lots of people have the same issue, some say their units are great. I've had my Livescope almost 18 months, loved it till now. Garmin tried to get cute by offering this new Perspective View and ruined their time proven Livescope images and now Garmin will not offer us the old software to roll back.

I know all manufactures have this issue with updates and in general software updates it does get old. As stated above I never update anything if it is working properly only time I will update is if there is something new I need from the update.

Yep, that's what I normally do as well. I got burned this time, I really wanted to see what the Perspective View was all about, mistake on my part.
Good news is Garmin is now working with me on a solution. I have a new transducer and black box on the way to me which I hope to test this week!

My FIL is having major issues as well, very similar to what you’re having. All started with the perspective mode update and then didn’t fix with the newest update either. He’s pretty put out with it, too.
