    Default Setting up electronics....budget friendly

I hope this is the best forum for some help and suggestions! I am almost finished restoring my Alumacraft Crappie Jon. New Carpet, New Millennium Seats, reinforced sheet-metal flooring and sidewalls, repaint the old Johnson 25hp, etc.

I am wanting to add electronics; two to be exact both 7 inch screens or larger. One in the back near the tiller outboard, one up on the tm. I want Side Imaging/GPS on rear for sure where I plan to do lots of searching and saving waypoints. I want Down Imaging/GPS on TM up front. I would really like to get the best units I can and be into the whole set up for $600-$700. I've done a bunch of research, but I need some confirmation from those who have traveled this road.

    1. I don't think at this price-point, I can get units that network unfortunately. I was hoping to be able to connect the two units to share waypoints only. Let me know if I'm missing something on this please!

    2. Is there a preferred, well-respected vendor with good support that I should be talking to and ordering from?

    3. My leading option is Lowrance Hook 2 Series (no networking). Surprisingly, I can get two Hook 2 Tripleshots cheaper than I can get one tripleshot and one splitshot. The problem there is I don't really want that huge transducer on my tm.

    I'm not really brand specific.

Thanks for any input and guidance!

I do want mapping or at least a unit with a good Basemap. That rules out the Hook 2 "x" units I just discovered! I realized the units I was pricing are units without mapping

I'd talk to Brian@BBGmarine - he will work with you to get you what you need.

I've not dealt with Brian/BBG Marine, but I've seen plenty of satisfied customers comment on his knowledge, low prices, fast shipping, and customer service.
