Default I keep records, My HB units play out in a couple of years.

My latest HB units last about 2 +- years, they are hooked up correctly and the battery power is 12.3/4 volts. Is it just me or are other people having the same problem??? This makes it hard to invest in the new units. I know I will get a lot of flack but It is serious money to me. I am retired and would like a unit to last a few years. Please, do not right that your units last for 20years, and so forth. I am talking about the new super units. P.S- I do fish a lot and put some hours on my HB units. P.S - My Ray Marine is 5 yrs old and going strong.

    Please describe “play out” ...

    Unit issue?
    xducer issue?
    Cabling issue?
    Mapping issue?

I’ve been following several electronics forums for over 10 years and have never seen a “pattern” of any brand or model only lasting a couple years before issues arise ...

It is feasible that issues can arise after a certain software update (this can be seen as a pattern) ...

I have had a Solix 12 since they first came out.
So this is year 3 I am on. I fish 100+ days a year.
I think It will still be running, when I decide to try some new technology.

Call HB service, they are terrific!

I just sold my 1198 SI that I bought new in 2010 and the new owner is happy as all get out of how it works. Personally I don`t buy the premise of the OP.
