Thread: Opinions on fishfinders with built in GPS

The 5" Humminbird Helix is hard to beat for the money.
Everybody preaches bigger size but that not required to get excellent basic structure and coordinate location.
The good news is you can pick up a used,
like new unit for $150-$250 on here or similar places.
So you can be in business for half or less what even the cheapest 7-9" units run and see how you like it.
Then you can see how you like the unit and if you decide later you want bigger or better you've got an excellent 2nd unit to accompany it.I

What lakes will you be fishing? Don't buy a used helix and then learn it has maps for some other region. A new map card could run $100 more.

I have a helix 7 gn2 will sell for 275 to your door no M.C.works great just got a bigger screen

You would need a chip card for your area to get the most out of the 7" but that's a good price on the unit.
If you have to buy a map card be aware that Navionics sections their maps by region. So you'd need their east region which covers NC/SC.
