    Default Battery Power

So I had several people say that a 30ah would run my Livescope system for my style of fishing. Usually about 6hrs. a day crappie fishing. Now I've had several people say 30ah is not big enough. What if I added another different size (20ah) in parallel to the original 30ah giving me 50ah? Will this work? Does the second battery need to be the same size? Supposedly they would draw down at the same rate? What happens when the smaller battery runs out of juice before the bigger one?
    Thanks

Normally what happens is the lower battery will start sapping juice from larger battery. Think I would try what you have first and see how it does. Then if you need more just have the 20 in stand by and switch leads over to it.

For what its worth, I am running my Live Scope on 2 - 7.5 Ah game camera batteries from Walmart. I have them wired in parallel and have gotten 8 hours of run time out of it (it was still running when I shut it off). My setup is portable (stand alone) and am running a 93SV plus the GLS-10 box on this set up. The unknown using this set up is how long will the batteries live and give the performance I have now, they are ussually drained to 11.4V at the end of the day. I plan on using them until they die or just wont give me the time I need then I will most likely go with a lithium of some sort.

Would like to see a pic if you don't mind, been thinking about a set up for dock fishing.

Here ya go, I used an Apache case from Harbor freight to hold the GLS-10 and the batteries, I added a voltage gage to the top lid and mounted my 93SV on the lid. I have my transducer on a fishing specialties pole ( I went this route so I could move my set-up between boats). Let me know if you have any questions.

I like the looks of that set up, with the 93sv mounted to the lid is it secure enough to carry around by the handle on the Apache case and how much do you think it weighs?

I ran a Mega 360, a Mega g2n 9SI, a 7 mega g3n DI for mapping, 2d, and DI, a Mega g3n 10 DI+ , the gps puck, and all networked for 6 hrs using a 50 amp IONIC lithium battery and still had 52% power left in the battery with the phone app showing 6 hrs of time left in the battery power level. All total, everything running continuously is drawing alittle over 4 amps.

It’s very secure no movement, it is a little on the heavy side probably around 25lbs. I plan on changing my batteries to a single Dakota lithium ion 10ah and should be able to shave about 6lbs.
