Default Is it wired right Helix 7

I got a new Helix 7 si and mounted it on my console. I added the power wire to the wiring block under the dash where other items are attached. They are on their own + an - screws. When i crank the boat it will turn off. Do i need a fuse or something? All comments welcome

Factory boat wiring is not heavy enough to operate sensitive electronics ... making the electronics starve for power (especially when the big motor pulls excessive amounts of amperage away from everything else when cranking) ...

You should run dedicated 10gauge wiring from the battery to the electronics unit to minimize amperage drop from small wiring ...

Dont forget a fuse at the battery ...

I have 2 helix 7 at the console now. Older di and new si. So to be sure i am understanding you i should run a 10g wire from the cranking battery and tie in the power cable to that wire. Can i tie in both power cables to the 10G wire or separate for each? What amp inline fuse ?

Each head unit should have a dedicated 10gauge wire from the battery with a 3amp fuse at the battery ...

This is the marine wire I use ...

A weak starting battery can cause the same issue.
