Make sure ur lake is available on the card whichever one you choose. I went with navionics for just one particular lake not listed on lakemaster.
And I will say that adding a contour lake map was one the best decisions I made when night fishing and navigating.
I’m glad you mentioned this... I didn’t even think about specific lakes being included... looks like navonics has the lake I fish the most, but doesn’t have another one close to home. And lakemaster has 2 of the ones close to home, but not the one I fish most. I’ll probably end up getting both eventually. Used, hopefully lol

Ill wind up with the lakemaster card yet. The opinions of others confirmed that lakemaster has more features than navionics on them.
I use the map card for high speed navigation on my lakes since the helix stops showing depth above a certain speed and I know I could add another transducer to remedy this but I’ve got enough holes in the Lund for me.

I run the Navionics+ in my Helix. I already had it from a Lowrance I sold. The subscription is good thru next September, after that I will look at Lakemaster.

Subscription? We have to pay for a subscription after we buy the card?

Only if you want to update navionics. Lake master is what I use because it has a lot more option's . I have both cards and lake master is my go to choice.

The biggest advantage to me is the ability to follow contour lines while spider rigging . Marking way points and sitting on brush it 's really not that huge .I have over 100 sites on a hand held so I pretty much have marked most thing with water is lowered in the winter .

Jman I know you fish Grayson a lot. I don't think it is cover by Lakemaster.Don't know about Navionics. Cave Run,Yakesville,Green River are some of ones cover with LakeMaster. With the newer Helix they have humminbird base map. They just don't give the detail like the cards does.

That is correct. The navonics have Grayson and yatesville, but not greenbo .
Lakemaster have greenbo and yatesville, but not Grayson. So I’ll probably end up getting both if I can find them used.
I’ve got a lot to learn. And that starts tomorrow when I take my new bird out on yatesville for the first time

I don't know about "Birds" ... but, my Lowrance Elite 5DSI & Hook 7 both had contours on Taylorsville Lake on the basemap. But ... they were 7, 17, 27ft depth contours.
