I'm getting a Terrova tomorrow and I just read this thread.
The first item is boat scale and from what I gather, is that a setting that allows you to adjust how forceful the TM will be when you are on spotlock? If not what is that function for?

To the OP did you get a 12v or 24v TM for your Tracker?

Crappiemax, that's correct. When you run it lower on the scale the less responsive the motor is - slower to ramp up to high speed. Without this a lighter boat will keep moving past the spot locked location, like mine.

This pre-2017 Terrova didn't have this adjustment and my uncle fights the motor more than the wind at times.

I got the 12 V and have used it three times since I have had it and it has plenty of power for my boat. Now if you’re going to be fishing in 10+ wins all day you will probably need two batteries. I used it Monday in 13+winds and the spotlight held me in about a 3-5’ area which I consider really good! I also put the boat scale on 0 which I think held it closer better.

If you had changed it to +1 or +2 it probably would have held 0-3ft.

    Wind up.......scale up
    Wind down...scale down

Yea I thought about doing that, but at the time I wasn’t too familiar with what it did.

You will get used to it.

No matter if I am in the glass or the tin boat(different weights and profiles), I always start at 0 scale for the day.

Similar to adjusting the graph display first thing in the morning to the water conditions.

At the first spot lock I just look at the remote and see how close the Tmotor is to the target and then adjust accordingly.

Not uncommon to change the boat scale throughout the day according to the wind conditions.

    Enjoy the new Tmotor.

Thank You. I have the same size boat and I opted for the 12v also and I already have 2 batteries since I fish a few TM only lakes.
Thanks for mentioning that setting it gives me a good place to start.
