Ok I got to put the new tm in the water today, and of course this thing is way smarter than I am. This first picture is about the boat scale. I have an older model 17.5’ bass tracker. What do I need to put the scale on?

These other two pictures are when I had to do the sensor offset. I’m not sure what the 18 is? That’s the number I got when I had it pointing forward. The second picture that says it’s too large is when it was parallel with the boat.

I appreciate that, but they are closed. Was trying to figure it out while I don’t have anything to do.

The 18 is the degrees of offset between the trolling motor and the heading sensor ( the white gps puck)

    Boat scale. Start at 0
Adjust up or down depending on boat weight and wind.
Neg. number is a slower reaction by motor
Pos. number is a faster reaction by motor.

    Decrease the offset number.

1st make sure you are using the screws supplied by manuf.

Loosen the screws and slide a piece of duct tape under the front edge from left to right.

Make a pencil mark on the puck and the tape.

Tighten 1 screw and remove the 2nd screw.

Test if you can move the puck with some effort. You don't want the puck too loose or it may move by itself.

Move the puck a few degrees left or right. Rerun calibration.

If the offset is larger, wrong way.

If the offset decreases, this is correct direction and keep adjusting until you get about 5 degrees offset and press set button and mark the tape with the pencil.
This is the new puck location.

Tmotor is now calibrated to forward boat direction.

Redrill second hole and reinstall 2nd screw.

If the 1st hole for the 2nd screw is too close to the new location, start over with a new location but don't drill the 2nd hole until calibrated.

With the lighter alum boat you will likely want a -1 or -2. I use -2.

If you feel the urge to try +2 then I recommend you hold on because when it changes direction to adjust on spot lock you might find yourself getting wet. Lol.

I have an aluminum 20 foot center console and I run my scale on -1. You might have to run it on -2.
