What is the ground screw on the back of an Ultra 106 used for? I've looked everywhere and can't find an answer.

Grounding of you are having an interference issue. I'm not using mine.

You could always call Garmin but I would guess that you need to connect it to a ground coming from the battery

You do not need to connect it to anything, unless, as Roy stated, you are working a noise issue. Mine is not connected.

I called garmin and they said i did not need it, don't remember what they said about it. Garmin has very good response, they will will call back.

Garmin says ground it to water.
Many guys just ground to battery
