The pics are correct. Just realize that the port pic is pointed to the left and the starboard pic is pointed to the right.

It looks to me that the transducer position is different from one photo to the other and not just left and right.

It is different. For some unrevealed reason, Garmin say to put it in different orientations depending on which side of the pole you put it on.

It is different because only one side of the xducer housing has the serrated notches that match to the mount ...

This requires flipping the xducer 180° (on its vertical axis) depending on which side port or starboard mount ... in effect aiming the xducer in the opposite direction on the opposing side of the shaft or barrel ...

So the orientation of the housing has to match the instructed orientation to get “forward” to be “forward” ...

Rickie, you do yeoman's work, and have the patience of Job. My hat is off to you, sir.

I don't have the patience. My Mom always told me I didn't have enough. I don't apologize - she was right; it is what it is.

Great info - keep it coming.

This is probably an over simplification, but it gives a general idea of how the different sections of the transducer work. Rickie, correct me if I'm off base.

dofc you are right, now the purpose of which side of tm you put it on is because some port tm with prop out while others want prop in when running big motor or truck,so transducer will not hit while trolling motor is laying down

I think that is the setup from the manual that is wrong. The long flat side is the side that should be facing forward. I may be reading your pictures wrong, though.

I can’t wait to get hold of a damaged LVS32 to cut it open and see the actual arrays inside ...
