    Default Lowrance mapping question

I have a 12” HDS live unit. I only use the mapping that was already installed in the unit. When I pull up to the bank to mark brush piles or stumps the map shows me way off the bank. I fish Cherokee and Douglas lake and both are drawn way down in the winter. Do the maps only show depths and contours at full pool? I also noticed the river channels didn’t seem accurate either. Is this normal or do I have something set wrong? Thanks.

Does Lowrance maps not have a lake level offset option? On lakemaster for birds you can adjust for lake level at any given time. If it doesn’t you might look at Navionics and see if their premium offers that option. I think there’s will work with Lowrance.
I’m sure that lower lake levels is what your experiencing.

Thanks, I will try and find out. I have been thinking about getting a Navionics card eventually.

I do believe most base maps are set at Full Pool stage. And unless the mapping company is using the military grade GPS system, there's a minimum of 10' of possible offset error. I could be wrong about that, so I defer to anyone with firsthand knowledge to correct me.

Lowrance base maps don't have lake depth off set. To my knowledge the Navionic's chip/chips and C-maps don't ether,I think bird has some patent on it or something, surprisingly the Navionic's app has it for smart phones and such.
