Default 7 inch screen vs 9 inch

I'm looking at getting a new unit. The 9 inch is about $300 more for the equivlent 7 inch. Are two inches worth the extra money for a weekend warrior bascially fishing brush piles? Thanks!

I have a Helix-9 on the back , Helix-7 chirp gen 3 on trolling motor . If searching go big . If you are like me and fish the same places year after year the 7 down image is fine on tops and locating fish . If wanting Side Image Go big !

I've had both, huge difference between a 7 and 9 inch unit. Well worth the cost difference IMO. Get the unit you really want and avoid buyers remorse.

Get the 9" or bigger. If possible.

Look at it long term, if you upgrade fairly often, the 7" is probably okay. If you tend to keep your electronics for a long period of time, say 10 years or more I'd be inclined to get which ever 1 I really wanted. I'm 68 and in all my years I've never heard someone say they wish they had a smaller screen but I've heard quite a few say they wish they had a larger screen.

If you go smaller unit and using Side Image you need to reduce the distance out to each side or use only one side to enlarge your view.

Well you guys have given me some good food for thought. I hate spending extra money, but I hate buyers remorse worse, I'm going to give a lot of thought to biting the bullet and going with a 9 inch. Thanks!

Buy a 12 if ya can justify it. Always go bigger. And it is always better.
